Immigration Legal Advice

Around 423,000 non-EU nationals migrated to the UK for the purpose of work in 2023. This figure reflects the faith that people hold in the UK employment market. The UK is renowned for its diverse range of job opportunities, its healthcare system and overall quality of life. Needless to say, these reasons demonstrate what makes the UK such a brilliant country to become a citizen of.

However, accessing these benefits is not always as straightforward as it may seem. Glanvilles appreciate the challenges faced with visa applications; eligibility concerns can arise and ensuring that everything is filled out correctly can be a stressful and tedious task. We recognise that not everyone may understand the technical language used and therefore we are here to aid you in obtaining the specific information required for your application. Rest assured, we are here to help you every step of the way.

At Glanvilles, we will do everything we can to ensure that any concerns over your visa application or British Citizenship application are resolved promptly. We are committed to providing an excellent service to meet your needs and assist you during the process.

Our Immigration Services

Our immigration solicitors support clients with a wide range of legal disputes throughout West Sussex and Hampshire, in particular, in Chichester, Fareham, Havant and Petworth.

Personal

Appeals and/or Review

If you are unsure whether you should challenge a decision made on your visa application or immigration position, our immigration solicitors at Glanvilles can assist you in the process of submitting an appeal. Your decision letter will inform you as to whether you have the legal right to appeal. Glanvilles are able to help make an application on your behalf as swiftly as possible to ensure that specific deadlines are met.

British Citizenship Applications

Our immigration team can guide you through the entire process of applying for British Citizenship. The most common route is making an application for naturalisation to become a British citizen. There is a range of criteria which you may meet to prove your eligibility. However, until you have had your citizenship ceremony, you need permission to stay in the UK. We can make a British citizenship application on your behalf to ensure that no detail is left unchecked.

Family Visas

We can assist you in several ways to acquire a family visa. You can make an application for a family visa to live with your spouse or partner, fiancé or fiancée, proposed civil partner, child, parent or relative who will provide long-term care for you. Regardless of your circumstances, Glanvilles are here to assist you in this process.

Business

Working Visas and Sponsor Licences

Glanvilles can help in the application process for a Worker Visa. You are able to apply for a Skilled Worker visa up to 3 months before commencing work in the UK. Requirements for an application include proving your identity, providing documents and acquiring a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer. Glanvilles can also assist with Sponsor License applications in order so companies can hire a skilled worker from overseas by ‘sponsoring’ them to work in the UK.

Every immigration application is different.  Our service will be tailored to your particular needs and requirements, and our fees will reflect this and your particular circumstances.

Our work will typically include the following:-

  • Meeting with you at the outset of the retainer to discuss in detail your particular circumstances so that we can determine which application is most appropriate for you and any other options that may available to you;
  • Providing you with advice on the eligibility requirements of any relevant visa and/or immigration application and whether you meet these requirements;
  • Requesting further information and/or documentation from you for further legal analysis;
  • Advising on whether there are any apparent weaknesses that could impact the application process and whether such weakness can be overcome by providing further supporting evidence;
  • Preparing your application for submission to the relevant body;
  • Liaising with Home Office officials on your behalf, where necessary;
  • Providing post-decision advice and support.

As mentioned above, every immigration application is different.  It is therefore impossible to provide a reliable estimate or fixed fee of our legal costs until we have considered all the details of your particular circumstances and intended application.

Set out below are our guidelines for the fees associated with our support to an individual client’s application.

Initial Consultation

We offer a fixed fee of £150 plus VAT for an initial consultation to understand your situation and identify the issues and options associated with the immigration status you are seeking to secure.  This will involve, for example, considering the facts relevant to your circumstances and determining which immigration application is most appropriate for you.
